What is Bacillus Coagulans BCP92™?

Bacillus Coagulans is a gram-positive, spore-forming, non-pathogenic, non-hemolytic, rod-shaped bacterium — stable across a wide range of pH and temperatures. It produces lactic acid and bacteriocins that prevent the growth of pathogenic microorganisms, and can sustain gastric and bile acids in the human gut, remaining stable even in highly acidic environments.

In silico analysis confirms it is sensitive to 17 classes of antibiotics and has no gene for biogenic amines — making it genetically stable at every stage.

Clinical benefits

What Bacillus Coagulans BCP92™ does for your gut

IBS Symptom Relief

Clinically Proven Relief from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) symptoms, including bloating, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

Less Growling, Gas & Bloating

Displaces gas-producing bacteria and improves fermentation to quiet your gut from the inside out.

Better Bowel Regularity

Aids in constipation relief and improves gut motility for more consistent, comfortable elimination.

Mood and Gut-Brain Axis

Modulates behavior via the gut-brain axis by measurably increasing serotonin levels.

Microbiome Modulation

Replenishes gut microbiota and improves the abundance of beneficial bacteria to restore microbiome diversity (Clinically Proven).

Protein & Nutrient Absorption

Supports the breakdown of proteins into amino acids and improves nutrient absorption through a strengthened gut lining.

Evidence

What the clinical studies show

Clinical Study Results
Significant IBS Symptom Reduction

The Study: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 100 IBS patients over 84 days at a dose of 2 billion CFU/day.

The Result: Statistically significant reduction in IBS Symptom Severity Score (IBS-SSS) compared to the placebo group by the end of treatment (p < 0.05).

Clinical Study Results
Gut Microbiome Modulation in Healthy Adults

The Study: A 42-day randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial with 48 healthy volunteers at 1 billion CFU/day.

The Result: A measurable increase in the abundance of beneficial bacteria (Bacillota phylum), effectively restoring healthy microbiome diversity.

Pre-Clinical Results
Diarrhea Treatment Efficacy

The Study: In vivo rat model measuring defecation frequency across multiple dose groups.

The Result: Both low and high-dose groups showed significantly reduced defecation frequency compared to disease control (p < 0.05)

Pre-Clinical Results
Mood Modulation via the Gut-Brain Axis

The Study: In vivo rat model measuring neurotransmitter levels (serotonin, dopamine, noradrenaline) in the frontal cortex.

The Result: Measurably increased serotonin and dopamine levels compared to disease control—showing effects comparable to standard fluoxetine treatment.

How Bacillus Coagulans Supports Optimal Digestion

Enhancing Protein digestion and Amino Acid Absorption

Bacillus Coagulans Enhances Protein Digestion and Absorption Human studies show that Bacillus Coagulans improves protein breakdown into amino acids, promoting better absorption through a strengthened gut lining. This probiotic supports optimal nutrient utilization and overall metabolic health.

In a randomized controlled trial with 30 healthy participants (ages 18–50), 14 were assigned to the test group and 16 to placebo. Over eight weeks, the test group consumed at least 1 billion CFU per day, with mean urine urea nitrogen levels measured at week 4 and week 8. Results indicated higher protein absorption in the Bacillus Coagulans group compared to placebo.
